Aura failing to record Channel 5 HD

Could this be recommendations and hence irrelevant? The CRID following it (csi...) could be the real problem.

@trog is your Aura connected to the Internet? Is it possible for you to disconnect and try setting your schedules?
Yes always connected to the internet. I disconnected and set a series record for Tuesdays Reuben Owen at 8pm on CH5 HD. Info shows in both the schedule list and the TV guide also showing the "R" Crid/Series/Event/TSID all seem to be fine with RECO saying null. After reconnecting all results are the same.

PS Before disconnecting I checked Rich House on Ch5 HD tonight and it still has no program info in the schedule list but gives info in the TV listing and shows the "R". Still null for crid and series. SD and +1 series record schedules for the show both give full details for info, "R" and crid etc. I did not try changing anything whilst disconnected from the internet for this show.

Edit... Although pressing info for Ch5 HD Rich house gives null crid in the schedule list doing the same in the TV guide gives full crid, series Event TSID and only null RECO

When you look at Rich House (5HD), whilst connected to the internet, I'm assuming you get a result similar to picture 1 in #59. Was there an "Upcoming Episodes" that has today's date on it? If so, and you click on it (or maybe press "i"), does that page show info? (I have a feeling some menu items behave differently when connected to the internet, and OK does things I don't expect - but "i" does what is expected.)

No I get the picture 1 with the live tv playing box whether connected or not. both ways in Upcoming Episodes show 2 boxes 20.00-21.00 ( no date but is tonights show) and 21.00-22.00 Sun 28 also connected or not whilst in the schedule listing it shows NO Information and null crid and series however whilst in the TV guide info is available and so is crid and series numbers.

Edit....... When viewing the schedule list of all schedules rather than a specific event I see that next to the Ch5 SD Rich House in 8 hours it says 2 programmes it also says 2 programmes for the Ch5+1 in 9 hours but the Ch5 HD in 8 hours says 3 programmes.

Edit 2..... I just noticed that viewing info from the schedule list for the Ch5 SD and the Ch5+1 only show 1 box for upcoming episodes the 21.00-22.00 Sun 28 event with tonight's episode just being the main page title and info

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused: This is getting weirder by the minute The Ch5 HD in the schedule list is NOW just showing 1 box for upcoming episodes ( next weeks) and is NOW showing crid and series info :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Edit 3...... Forget that sudden crid appearance. Whilst in Schedules I pressed "OK" on the Ch5 HD scheduled Rich house which then shows tonights and next weeks episodes then pressed info on tonights and that then gave the correct crid and series info and a single upcoming episode box.

" and OK does things I don't expect " you were right about that Phil.

I made some edits to my last 2 posts.

What I'm wondering, and what I'm not sure you've done - but you might have (or can't because of the schedule being today and you don't want to fsck it up), is probably select the "Upcoming" with no date and press "i" - does that show information and crids for today's episode. If so can you select record from there and does it enter the schedule? When I messed about with it yesterday I wasn't given the option to series link Rich House in HD but could set for today. I don't remember checking to see if series link had been set.

(fsck = "file system consistency check" on Unix systems - back in the day was often used to avoid writing a well-known swear word)
but the Ch5 HD in 8 hours says 3 programmes
I bet there are two for today, one blank and one not.

On the Ch5 HD no info schedule page with the 2 upcoming episodes if I press info on the dateless box for tonights episode it then shows a page like your pic 2 with full program details and also crid details but rather than give me an option to record it says "Cancel Recording"

Somewhere here might be the answer workaround to your difficulties with 5HD. (Might doing the heavy lifting - it might not either). Next time you get a "no info" page if there is an upcoming episode (especially one with no date) see if you can set the recording from there. Looks like somewhere along the line you managed to set the recording on 5HD for today. All we need to know now is whether it actually records!

I just spotted that when I use the "OK" then "Info" to see the crid for the Ch5 HD booking rather than say Null for RECO that other bookings say it has
[RECO:] crid://panorama.five.tv/version/C5474390002A]] The same is given by info when viewed in the TV listing.

Edit it seems that all Ch5 HD shows have RECO crid://panorama.five.tv details whilst BBC1 HD and 4HD follow the pattern of RECO null.

It used to work fine for that show and only started to play up a few weeks ago. I would have to set a scheduled recording first before seeing the No info as it happens in the schedule list and would then get the cancel rather than record option. Next week I will cancel and reset and see what happens. Today I want to see if it fails again which I am certain it will.

Almost certain. If you were certain, there would be no point in checking.
Wrong again o pedantic one. I am certain but maybe others have doubts and more correct results solidifies my theory. But good to see you have nothing better to do today than be your usual self.

I wonder if anyone knows what this is. I've seen [RECO:null], [RECO: crid://{whatever}] and [RECO:] - the nearest thing I can see mentioned elsewhere is a RECOM crid, ie. recommendations. Then, next in line, is a crid with no tag, just [crid://{whatever}]. If this contains digitaluk and a very long string of hex characters I can't set record. If it contains, for 5HD, five.tv/versions, it seems to work okay.

I have looked at dozens of channels and cannot find another that does not say RECO null. It seems that it could well be more than a coincidence that the channel I and others are having issues with is the only one breaking the pattern. I only looked at the next few shows today and tomorrow they all had the crid://panorama.five.tv details but I see now you are correct and some do not. Someone here must know what RECO relates to hopefully as it is seeming to be relevant to the issue.

No need to be your usual self and duck the blame for your own lack of precision. I can't help what you write.

Just as you cannot help being one of the only benefits of the inevitable demise of Freeview resulting in the demise of this site.

Is this in any way relevant to understanding and devising workable solutions for some of Aura's problems?
No not at all neither was it asked for but it is a very familiar modus operandi that I cannot help but respond to when it is used to try to belittle me once again. I have zero patience for irksome self righteous know it all's who attempt to put people down as a pathetic attempt to raise themselves up. I should pity him really because if he behaves like that in the real world he must have lived a life of constant rejection and be a social pariah only tolerated as a useful idiot when needed.
