auto-update event sneaked through disable ota protection

Based on what was there, trying to be generally informative for you and anyone else who might be reading it - who may well not have the same level of knowledge.

:disagree:

disable-ota provides a degree of protection against an OTA update even without the presence of a Disable-OTA schedule entry, and was its entire function originally - as I explained earlier. Your title did not specify that you were referring to the Disable-OTA schedule entry being present, and was not shown in your posts.

Your fundamental problem was that the delinquent half-awake was preventing a boot cycle, so you would be seeing what you reported. This would still not have resulted in an actual OTA search and potential firmware update when you have a Disable-OTA event in the schedule, so it's not a catastrophe.

If the Auto Update event is still present after a proper reboot, then you are also experiencing the problem I have reported HERE (click).

Case closed as far as I am concerned.
