Auto Update

Happy Easter everyone!

In my scheduled events there is am "Auto Update" event for tomorrow at 4am. Does anyone know what this is for please? Can I simply delete it or is it a requirement?

Auto update is always there, and if you delete it it will come back. It is when the box searches for new firmware, and the schedule is suppressed from the standard TV screen schedule display. I thought it was 0430 though.

It can be defeated by scheduling a daily reminder that spans the OTA search, and/or installing disable-ota (see Things Every... section 1).

A similar schedule entry occurs when the broadcast network wants you to retune. This is defeated by disable-dso.
