Best DNS in the UK

I am on PlusNet but found it's DNS a bit iffy now and again so I have been using Google (8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4) for a while now. As an exercise, I ran DNS Benchmark to see what it comes up with
and it shows Cloudfare DNS (1.0.0.1/1.1.1.1) as better.
Doing some research Cloudfare seems pretty solid but would greatly appreciate any input anyone may have, either specifically on Cloudfare or more generally.
 
I have been using Cloudfare for ages now. Not had any issues with it. I did also try Quad9 (9.9.9.9 & 149.112.112.112) but did have the odd occasion when it was unreliable.

My BB provider is Virgin Media and have put their cable MODEM into MODEM only mode which enables me to use my own router. In my case its an ASUS RT-AX88U, rocking Merlin firmware. I have set it to force all connected clients, including IoT, to use Cloudfare.

I ditched Plusnet's shitty DNS after it fell over once too often. I used OpenDNS now, with Google as a backup, and Plusnet as a last gasp.
For Dynamic DNS I use freedns.afraid.org (after that dyndns lot wanted to start charging) - can script updates in my router too.
Never have any DNS problems these days.
 
I wasn’t having any issues. I have never used it in router mode, preferring to be in control of my network as much as possible, choosing my own DNS servers etc. Plus where the co-ax cable terminates, ground floor behind the TV, the WiFi signal wouldn’t penetrate far.

I have a VPN server running on my Asus router. For dynamic DNS I use no-ip. Plus I love to tinker!

When I first had NTL installed, as they were then, the BB MODEM was built into the TV box hence it’s location. Technology has progressed somewhat and we don’t actually have Virgin Media TV any more, just a stand-alone Super Hub 2ac.

I’m very pleased with their service, and have been a customer since 2003. I’m currently on their 200/12 package.
