Bug: Media Player wide screen playback incorrect

I am very impressed with the media capabilities of this box. However, when playing back standard cinema widescreen 2.39:1 footage I have noticed that I can't play it back in that format. The nearest I can get is full-screen 16:9.

Is there a work-around for this bug?
 
You could try the trick of setting the screen to 4:3 and letterbox under:

menu -> settings -> preferences -> video -> screen ratio 4:3 and display format letterbox 16:9

They work for me to get the box to display the widerscreen video correctly letterboxed. Bit of a pain, I know, but it does work.
