Burn .ts file direct to DVD - free software

Unfortunately the only copy of this program I could find appears to have viruses attached (See report below), so I can't supply a link in the WiKi

The idea for removing the adverts is to get the set of DVD files created by 'so-think' and edit out the advert video and menu structure using dvd-shrink

If I am reading that report properly, the file scanned appears to be 160K. Is it really supposed to be a TS to VOB converter and DVD burner in 160K?

The file I downloaded was only 160K, so I would guess it's a downloader for the main program. I didn't run it, so I can't say

I don't think the downloader is riddled with infection. It scans without problem via AVG and Spybot says it uses Somoto.BetterInstaller.

According to Sophos this installer will may install unwanted software but no mention of virus.

One thing I didn't like was that the link to the Sothink forum does not work. I would do a lot more research before using the program but would not throw it out before that as it has all the appearances of being genuine with an installer that may or may not be dodgy.

It looks like Sothink the developers of Move DVD Maker use Somoto.BetterInstaller because they get payment from them for each somato installation. Developers have to make money BUT if virus checkers see somato as a threat of some kind then I don't think it's a very good move. Somato have been criticised for bundling other 'services' that are at best 'opt-out' and at worse, 'no-opt-out'

Agreed, the no-opt out is probably the advert on your DVD. AV programs err on the 'safe' side and produce many false positives imo.
