cannot access webif

I updated firmware last month and installed webif, everything runnning sweetly.

Just this week, if I type the ip address in my browser, a username and password is requested.

The ip address is the same as before and i can connect via ftp no problem.

The default username and password do not work

I reset the box, but no difference.


Just updated to custom f/w 1.02.29 - no changes.

Problem exists on my PC, laptop & tablet

You probably lost the WebIF when an OTA updated your box in the night. See "Things Every..." (link in signature panel below).

I don't know why it was not restored by reinstalling the custom firmware, but the official update was probably to 1.02.28 not 1.02.29 so perhaps that is part of the answer (depending which version you had before). See the update matrix on the Wiki HERE (click).

Update - this bit was pertinent, and I didn't spot it on first reading:

I was using the custom f/w 1.02.28 when the problem started. (and i'm pretty sure i set up the hummy so that the update would not be installed automatically).

So i downloaded the official 1.02.29, then the custom patch. ftp still works ok. - if webif password was recognised I could live with it, but nothing gets me in.

I would be happy to go back to f/w 1.02.28, but I sense it won't make any difference.
