Can't connect via browsers

Odd, it works here. What does "opkg list|grep ttpd" say?

humax1# opkg list|grep ttpd
lighttpd - 1.4.35-4 - Lightweight web server
lighttpd - 1.4.37
humax1#

But all this messing about has created a serious problem: Windows networking no longer sees both my T2s and I can no longer connect via my file manager or by ftp. A browser connection shows the webif bootstrap page, inviting me to download and install the full interface. Doing so instantly produces:

Connection to online repository at http://hpkg.tv successful!

Updating package list...

Downloading http://hpkg.tv/hdrfoxt2/base/Packages.gz.
Inflating http://hpkg.tv/hdrfoxt2/base/Packages.gz.
Updated list of available packages in /mod/var/opkg/base.
Package webif (1.2.5-4) installed in root is up to date.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Congratulations, you have successfully installed the full web interface
and supporting packages. Please restart your Humax device using the
remote control to put it into standby, wait for it to fully shut down
and then start it up again.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Unfortunately, the cycle repeats after rebooting.

Fix the web server (see up thread) and the others will come right after a reboot, unless you've uninstalled them somehow, in which case you can reinstall them after you get the web server working. One thing at once...

Updated packages now available in the repository!
Sorry for the inconvenience - a straightforward 'opkg update && opkg upgrade' should get things working again.

I tried it but it's still stuck on the bootstrap page-download-reboot-bootstrap page cycle. Your above command produced:

humax1# opkg update && opkg upgrade
Downloading http://hpkg.tv/hdrfoxt2/base/Packages.gz.
Inflating http://hpkg.tv/hdrfoxt2/base/Packages.gz.
Updated list of available packages in /mod/var/opkg/base.
Upgrading libpcre on root from 8.37 to 8.37-1...
Downloading http://hpkg.tv/hdrfoxt2/base/libpcre_8.37-1_mipsel.opk.
Configuring libpcre.
humax1#

The Win7 network still cannot see the machines even though Settings/System/Internet Setting says "Network Connected" and the router shows both as connected and active.

It worked on one of my HDRs, but unfortunatly I had followed a previous post and edited out this list on the other box:

Package: lighttpd
Version: 1.4.37
Depends: swapper, service-control (>= 2.0), libpcre
Provides:
Status: install user not-installed
Architecture: mipsel
Conffiles:
/mod/etc/lighttpd/extra.conf 7bfa62271212309f1568ac2a03a2532e
Installed-Time: 1445570875

Now I am in a loop and with a screen telling me I have successfully installed the CUSTOM FIRMWARE, but click this box to download and install the WebIf. I do click, reboot, but keep getting the same message.

I cannot now SSH into the box, but CAN Telnet in.

What can I do to sort it please?

Try

opkg install lighttpd --force-reinstall

Thanks, all working for me now. (including pcre binaries).
When I'd finished testing the new packages on my boxes, I imported them into SVN before publishing to the repository and unfortunately SVN ignores .so objects by default so they went missing during that process : ( I've changed the scripts now to stop it happening in the future!)

Phew.

Thanks. That sorted it.

I was worried there for a moment. Kinda my fault for not waiting. At least I only messed with 'my' HDR.

I might have been wearing my testicles as earrings if I cocked up SWMBO unit!

Did you try post #47 ?

Yes and also post #52.

I'm getting very concerned about my Win7 network's inability to see either T2 machine. Earlier today, I rebooted the router and Win7 to no effect. I even used System Restore to return my system to last night's backup, again without effect.
