Channel Encrypted

On a few occasions during playback ...screen will go black with a message ‘This channel is encrypted’
normally after a short time ... 10, 20 sec it reverts to playing.
Sometimes though it freezes, all remote buttons Incl on/off are inoperable.
A reboot returns it to working.
on both scenarios I can then play what previously reported as encrypted.

Any suggestions ... it has recently had full disk diagnostics & errors fixed.

Freezes how long for? If it is permanent and not just "slow", this is a crash for which the only intervention is a power cycle.

Crashes can be induced if you load a series of IR commands when the first is slow to process.

Slow processing can be an indication of difficulty accessing the HDD.

All in all, considering previous form, maybe you should replace the HDD.

I've had a similar problem lately: copying a folder to my external drive and watching a recording at the same time the screen occasionally turns black, the 'encrypted or scrambled' message appears and the only remedy is a power cycle.

Another scenario ... yesterday ...programme set to record.
I came to watch it about 30min in ..... was still recording at 2Hr long.
When I tried to pay got the “This channel is encrypted’. message .... it would not ffwd .... after 29 sec or so it would simply cease trying to play and go back to menu.

I checked ... programme was fine, and I could watch direct on Humax no problem.
thinking it might be confused.... let. ‘Recording’ run to completion .....but still the same, black screen with encrypted message.

any suggestions ?
happened a few times previously ... but not a weekly event.

What other information can I give .... I have one of the failed recordings .. will that provide any details.
Disk Diagnostics are all OK
It has a set of logfiles - happy to post any.

It sounds like the standard "forgotten its encryption key" bug.
There is nothing you can do apart from turn it off and on again. The recording is lost.

I have moved the most recent ‘failed’ recording into trash, if there is any useful data from that.
or can supply any of the logs ........ or does neither help diagnose.
