Your test works in Netscape Navigator (from 2008)! Only gripe would be subscripts not sub enough. No MathML in that browser.
Where the hell did you manage to check <blink>that</blink>, and how about Mosaic? (But that became IE!

You really want to know?
Many years ago I had to create some web pages that were IE(can't remember what version) and Netscape compliant (with CSS, no bloody CSS2 or CSS3). These were the two most popular browsers at the time (2000). I ported the whole lot, including Netscape to my laptop. Occasionally, I load new browsers and check to see if the web pages still work (they don't now because of changes to way browsers handle Java and Flash)... So, I had Netscape available, and I tried it. As Mosaic was not a popular browser at the time (and I'd never heard of it!) I don't have a copy - so I haven't tried it.
