due to what could be a problem with the HD-FOX (4 GB limit)

the search is on

can confirm sony blu-ray 480s is not compatible

tried streaming SD &HD files from HDR encypted/decrypted

although unit can see the SD files, the unit won't play any of them
 
The best chance you have is to get a light-weight PC chassis with HDMI video, and configure it with a home theatre Linux.

the point being, there are a lot of DLNA certified devices out there, yet they aren't compatible with each other (different makes).

if it is certified, you should be able to mix and match.

so it would be good if i knew which devices would work with the HDR
 
Dont forget that the Humax is not DLNA certified from what i remember.. it just happens to support DLNA.. in some form.
 
Agreed, but having a client device where you have control over the software (or at least can tap into the community of open-source developers) means a greater chance of incompatibility work-arounds. As far as I understand from what has been written, Linux VLC is able to negotiate the Humax DLNA index and play back at least StDef.
