So it all seemed to pass, however I still can't download webif.
The first time I tried to download webif after running fix-disk this is how far
it got before appearing to stall....

Any advice would be welcomed.
 
Try the Telnet menu "rset" option. You should then be able to reinstall the CF from scratch. An even more "nuclear option" is to use "srma" - it will then be necessary to install a proper standard firmware before reverting to custom firmware.

Either should clear whatever knot your system has got into.
 
I did rset and reinstalled the CF. This worked and I was able to download all the webif packages. So, it's sorted out. I still can't play recorded proprammes on my laptop despite having VLC add-on in Firefox and VLC active-x in Internet Explorer but I couldn't do that any way - so never mind. Thanks Black Hole.

What version of VLC? there is at least one version that doesn't like playing with the DLNA service the hummy provides.
