Custom Install Recovery?

Trying to install on anew box today with .32 standard firmware. Downloaded & installed the latest .32 custom but got numerous errors while trying to load the Web IF. Restarted the process several times & it seemed to go a little further each time but kept saying that I needed to update OPKG or similar. Then on the last attempt it crashed out & I now have now GUI, just what's shown below. Re-installing both firmwares hasn't helped. :(

I was going to try to do it manually but all the old guides seem to have disappeared since it was more automated.

Getting really grumpy now.

Fix Disk completed OK.

Can't download packages:

Collected errors:

* opkg_conf_load: Could not lock /tmp/opkg.lock: Resource temporarily unavailable.

When I now go to view installed packages I get:

Runtime Error: /mod/webif/lib/pkg.class:59: Collected errors:
* opkg_conf_load: Could not lock /tmp/opkg.lock: Resource temporarily unavailable.
in procedure 'pkg' called at file "pkg.jim", line 58
at file "/mod/webif/lib/pkg.class", line 59

Now my original 2nd post has disappeared... :(

It did say I had partial success with manual installation but that a potential disk problem was reported on the first load of Web IF.

It may be that fix disk has corrected a hard disk problem, but you could be left with a corrupted set of files. I would re-run fix disk and then do an RMA, (notes HERE) and start from scratch with standard 1.02.32 followed by custom 1.02.32 mod 2.16

Thanks. After an hour's rest I tried again & managed to install Disable OTA, DSO & Auto Unprotect but then IR failed. I suspected an actual connectivity problem to the server so ran a trace & got the following:

A few slow hops & a timeout. Pinging the server with -t is also giving a few slow responses (500mS+) so it looks like it is connectivity to me.

IR just installed OK.

The HDR can play from iPlayer OK & I can ping/trace other sites OK.

It does look a bit slower than my ping, average 100ms
Code:

I'm getting a ping time of 30-40 ms when pinging from my iPhone via same router as humax.

Could there be a problem with rbz5416's DNS settings? When I use tracert I get nothing like his/her result.
Then again I'm using a different ISP I think (BT).
