DetectAds not running

I noticed a problem with detectads not processing a few recordings and tried to sort it out. Not much worked as in trying to run it manually etc. until I put the queued entry on hold and then I could run the process manually.

The problem now is that detactads is not running for any further new recordings.

I have tried to delete the entries set to hold in the queue but they will not disappear.

I think from the log above that somehow the process is in a loop and stuck.

Is there some way to fix this please?

Thanks
Rob.

I don't know what the specific problem is nor how to diagnose the specific problem, but there are a number of steps you can take to try to resolve it for yourself. These might destroy or confuse the evidence if there is any value in looking for bugs or identifying the actual problem, but I suspect you just want to get it working, and in the absence of any other advice...

In the order of least destructive first, and re-test after each until it is working again (I'm writing this offline and from memory so the details might be a little "flexible"):
  1. Reboot. In the event of any unexpected "hang" one should always try a reboot, even though I doubt this will be effective.
  2. WebIF >> Diagnostics >> Fix Flash Packages.
  3. WebIF >> Diagnostics >> Command Line, rm /mod/etc/queue.db
  4. Boot to Maintenance Mode then run fix disk.
  5. Boot to Maintenance Mode then run fixweb.
  6. As a very last resort, in the absence of any better advice: boot to Maintenance Mode and set RMA mode (to remove the WebIF etc from HDD). Reboot again and access the resulting minimal WebIF page to go into the Telnet menu and clear the RMA flag, You will then be at the Installation page to re-install the WebIF.

I have tried 1 and 4 with no good result. And now I will try your other suggestions.

I had wanted to delete the queue file but had not known where it existed so thanks for no. 3.
