I've had my Hummy for four months but I don't know exactly how old it is as it's an ex-display unit I found on ebay. It was as-new and had never been set up though, and the firmware was quite recent.

HDR1 (purchased August 2010) doesn't even give a drive model number. HDR3 (second hand, origin unknown) is ST3500312CS. Both are standard format 500GB. HDR2 is inaccessible (and not Internet connected); HDR4 has not been commissioned.

I've not voted, as the dealer I bought from (somewhere in the Bournemouth area) had already fitted a 2TB drive. Turns out it is advance format, and the first two partitions aren't aligned, but the third one is.

*WARNING* - partition /dev/sda1 is misaligned by 3584 bytes.
*WARNING* - partition /dev/sda2 is misaligned by 1536 bytes.
* OK * - partiton /dev/sda3 is properly aligned.

It seems from recent threads here that Humax may have been shipping newer HDR-Fox T2 devices with advanced format drives which aren't properly aligned.
Do you have any estimate as to when this started?

Okay so this is a bit weird I have a standard format drive that is reporting as being misaligned - am I special :D?

The disk analysis tool says it is Seagate Pipeline HD 5900.2
Model ST31000424CS

Bought from Richer Sounds (Leeds) Jan 2012. I have had another issue with the disk in the past - http://hummy.tv/forum/threads/disk-issue-advice-please.2550/ only mention that in-case it is of some bearing. The box has behaved itself since then so I don't know if I should be concerned and would love to hear from the experts!

Af123 corrected this (missaligned standard drive) for the 512GB drive but I'm not sure he did the same thing for the 1TB drive
