Disk space discrepancy

To free up space of my 500Gb Humax I copied my Movies folder to a 4Tb Buffalo NAS drive and I am having difficulty understanding the disk usage figures

I understand that Size on disk will be normally be slightly larger than Size due to incomplete use of final disk sectors but my figures are showing a 50% increase!
Any ideas why and how I can reclaim the excess space.

This compares with the directory on the Humax

What file system is the Buffalo NAS using?

Further investigation seem to show that it is a common problem with NAS storage and Microsoft and Buffalo pointing fingers at each other for blame.

SMB is reporting disk allocations as multiples of 128Mb instead of 4K, It doesn't affect my other Buffalo NAS or SMB mounts of the Humax disk.
Hopefully it is just a reporting issue and not actual space allocation

File system is XFS
