DLNA TV capable of HD playback without custom firmware?

Gah I too hit his issue today with my sony tv it won't play the ts files, I've decrypted and converted one to mpg but not indexed by humax dlna server yet :-(

I was lucky enough to get a raspberry pi which I have loaded with xbmc but not had time to test - of course that means another ethernet socket to the bedroom seems to be the biggest issue I continually hit !

Assuming to mpg works is that something I can automate?

I got the raspberry pi working, it supports cec so tv remote can control it and my sony provides enough juice to run the pi via usb!

So I simply turn on the tv and it switches to hdmi 1 and in a few seconds the pi boots and I can stream from my humax, I've put together a guide.

You need custom firmware on the humax to stream the hd content, you also have to purchase the mpeg2 license for the pi for SD content (£2.40)
