Don't want the music and picture partition

Is it possible to delete or reduce the size of the music/picture partition
 
I think to change that partition you'll have to re-format the entire drive (and loose any recordings and program timer settings etc). Its a bit of a bummer. I wish I had known on day one that the music and photo partition was just a waste of space. Now I have so much stuff recorded I just can't face wiping it all.
