Failed recordings - and more!

@Black Hole - Here's the current status - in your instructions it says "reconnect to Telnet as above" and I'm a blank, can't understand why - except I used PuTTY last time.

I cannot enter anything at this point and am scared to leave the "page".

Telnet is a protocol and you can use any program that provides telnet, so PuTTy (which is also my choice) will be fine. The HDR-FOX T2 won't know which program you are using.

PuTTY is a Telnet client. That must be the same as you saw last time, so I don't see what the problem is (just do the same as last time). Or, as you have installed webshell, you can use that instead (connect with a web browser instead of a Telnet client).

@Black Hole - Sorry, I phrased that badly - what I meant was that nothing could be entered at that point, it was unresponsive to any key strokes - and I don't know how to "reconnect using telnet".

When I got lost the first time around, I suddenly reported here "fixdisk running" but didn't explain how I'd got there, so that's no help. I simply cannot switch into the right brain compartment 🙃

I'm sitting here in maintenance mode, reluctant to change to PuTTY ( @MartinLiddle ) in case I'm just as blank when I get there and mess up Fox on the way.

You do. You've done it before. PuTTY is a utility which provides communication using the Telnet protocol. Or use webshell.

Is that display from your web browser? If so, you are in a Telnet session in webshell.

The session has been terminated due to the HDR-FOX rebooting. You need to close that session and open a new one (simply refreshing the page should do it, or at least land you on a web page offering to open one). If that doesn't work, by all means open PuTTY, there is no danger here.

The HDR-FOX is unresponsive and inoperable until you either open a session and continue the process, or reboot the machine.

Every time I enter Maintenance mode, Humax's internet connection cuts off after a very short while. It's happened in both Webshell and PuTTY.

It's a hassle to keep on going thru the necessaries to re-try, so I'll leave it for now. Thank you all, very much.

Tried again this morning, this time with PuTTY, and set Humax on 101 instead of Red Button channel. After entering Maintenance mode:

Network error? Describe your home network – specifically the link between your PC and the HDR-FOX.

I presume you didn't have this problem before.

101 vs. Red Button has nothing to do with it, the box doesn't work in Maintenance Mode anyway.
