Thnx …. Probably suffering from a few age related issues.Just a freeze. My units suffer this kind of thing more and more as they get older.
Thisfixdisk -d -y
Enter the fixdisk keyword, then it prompts you for the options (and you can review the help, if required).at what point (or where can I enter the -d -y switches ?
It sounds like you might need the capacitor fix.Display states the boot message “Custom F/W ….”
I power cycle and it works.
I'll install the fix-disk package.Enter the fixdisk keyword, then it prompts you for the options (and you can review the help, if required).
But if you install the updated fix-disk package from the repository first (just published, version 0.6), before you go into maintenance mode, then this will give you a newer version compared to that burnt in to the firmware.
You can then use the -r option as well, so that it reboots automatically afterwards.

No.Would the capacitor fix also impact tuner ?
It is impossible to make any assumptions about sensitivity of tuners or the picture defects resulting from reception problems. The TV might have a more sensitive/selective tuner, or might be covering the defects better. It has also been noted that excessive PVR CPU load can result in picture quality issues, and you might also want to consider whether you have interference from the HDMI lead.Separately I am also getting break up of channels occasionally .. yet this is OK on TV and if I swap TV port & leads over on Distribution amp .. fault does not move
You can then use the -r option as well, so that it reboots automatically afterwards.
It was your suggestion that got it implemented (back around the start of the year). I used it again myself only last week (more disk panic after the last one).I've been wishing the feature existed for some time.
