Favourites ( new user)

I want to make some favourites lists. However I'm unnerved by the fact that when I add a channel to my favourites list, that channel disappears from the original standard list. Can channels only live in one list?

Nothing actually disappears from the channels list, the left hand list just shows what you haven't put in that particular favourites list yet. You can have the same channel in as many lists as you like.
