My office building (not mine, but where I worked) in the 80s & 90s had aircon (cooling and heating) run by heat pumps in the offices, and in the computer centre. The heat the computer centre was producing got recycled into the offices (in the winter, anyway). Data centre heat could be supplying district heating and swimming pools, etc.
