Fixdisk what does this mean ?

The Seagate command timeout parameter is non-standard (see here) and older versions of Smartmontools don't process the raw values correctly, making the number of timeouts seem huge. Converting '8590065666' to hexadecimal gives '0200020002' which means two timeouts of > 7.5 seconds each. The quoted article in backblaze (see above) did not give a value for this parameter, but a post in the discussion below it suggested monitoring it and replacing the drive when the number of timeouts is greater than 13.
I had a drive that started recording command timeouts. In my case the drive was fine and this was caused by a failing mainboard making the unit lock up. There may be a number of fault conditions that can cause this parameter to increase.

Thanks for that, very interesting. Two timeouts doesn't seem too bad but something to keep an eye on. As this drive started out in a Sky box it is possible that the timeouts are in some way related to a fault in the Sky box.l
