format 1TB hard drive

Hello,

I just formatted a new 1TB HD with EXT3 ready to put in my Foxsat-HDR

When I booted the Foxsat it said the HD needed formatting, unusual as I already formatted it EXT3.

I started the format and now over an hour later it is still formatting and no progress bar.

How long should it normally take to format a 1TB HD on the Foxsat?

With my PC it took less than an hour to format. thanks

2.5 hours later it is still formatting.

update: 5 hours later still formatting. the turning circle animation goes counter clockwise! is that a joke?

Did you set up the correct partition layout? See also my comment over on MyHumax about needing to change the SATA mode.

update: a jumper was placed between the 2 pins near the data socket and it is up and running!
