fox t2 Seagate exact replacement not seen by humax t2

Just in case anyone else has a failed HDD that can't be fixed and won't format, after reading this thread I bought a Seagate 1TB ST1000VM002 and swapped it into the Fox T2. Powered up, answered 'yes' to the format questions, and went to make a cup of tea. When I came back the drive was formatted, with 885 Gb available. Test recordings work fine. I'm a very happy bunny! Thanks to all on this thread.

Presumably I have to reinstall custom firmware?

mike_m. I asked the question of CF on another thread. You don't need to install the CF just open your web browser and http into the T2. You'll get the basic WebIf asking you to install the full web interface. Once intstalled you'll need to install any packages you may have had.

Hope this helps

Thanks for that!
When I try to install the full web interface, I'm getting "opkg_conf_load: Could not lock /tmp/opkg.lock: Resource temporarily unavailable." so I'm guessing the download site is busy. I'll try again later.

I kept have the same problem. And found it seem to work after playing a bit of a video on the Humax TV portal with iPlayer. Give it a try.

Well, the process gets through the first dozen download/install stages in a few seconds, then hangs at this line:
Downloading http://hpkg.tv/hdrfoxt2/base/sqlite3_3.8.11.1_mipsel.opk.
and sits there with the busy icon spinning - for as long as my patience lasts (half-hour plus). I've tried it several times, but it always hangs at the same place.
My broadband speed is normal (I can watch iPlayer for example) .
Any thoughts?

Looking at what's going on in the Humax (logged in via telnet), last few lines of a ps -w show this:
637 root 10192 S < /sbin/bootstrapd
694 root 1236 S < sh -c ./install_webif
695 root 1236 S < {install_webif} /bin/sh ./install_webif
709 root 1300 S < /bin/opkg install webif
783 root 1248 S < wget -q -U opkg/HDR/300 -O /mod/var/opkg/tmp/opkg-YAgTBk/ncurses_5.9_mipsel.opk http://hpkg.tv/hdrfoxt2/b
784 root 1236 S N {tmenu} /bin/sh /bin/tmenu
786 root 1268 S N {tmenu} /bin/sh /var/lib/humaxtv_backup/mod/tmenu
825 root 1248 S N /bin/sh -l
850 root 1348 R N ps -w
which suggests to me that it still thinks it's doing something.... after 1 hour.... even though it isn't...

There are various reports of the hpkg server hanging up, particularly when the package in question is large (eg webif). af123 hasn't found anything wrong.
