Foxsat, SMB, iPhone

Hello to you all,

I was wondering if anyone has ever tried and successfully connected their iPhone’s (ios17) Files app to their Foxsat’s smb share?
I have successfully connected a share provided by my modern router to my modern iPhone. But get nothing when trying it on the Foxsat.
Various Windows PC have all connected and are connected to Foxsats with ease.

Are the old man and young pretender just too far apart in time?

Be well

I suspect the issue will be the version of SMB is disabled on the IPhone. Perhaps this question on StackOverflow helps https://stackoverflow.com/questions/74854073/setting-up-a-connection-to-an-smb1-server-in-my-ios-app

I’ve just tried the link on my iPad/iPhone and get an error message see a attached screenshot:

Thanks for the reply Martin. As I feared, too old. But aren’t we all.
Will seek an alternative solution using what I have.
Perhaps rsync my HDR‘s to a drive off my router. A backup and iPhone accessible.
I think I can mount remote folders in/on my NAS and use that as stepping stone.
Put a big battery pack in a rucksack and carry a HDR in a briefcase wherever I go. Or perhaps just start reading books instead.

I use an app called "FE File Explorer Pro". It offers loads of protocols, and if SMB1 isn't on the list you could try FTP.
