HDR box restarting itself...

Hello hummy forum,

Box info;
FHTCP 1.03.12
Loader: a7.30

Recently I noticed its been restarting itself, but only on certain channels, and I'm pretty sure it has been since the last update.

The symptoms are that you can be watching a channel and after about 30-60secs the unit will just restart, and if you do nothing the process just continues until you change channel. So far I've narrowed it down to channels 11 (Pick), 18 (4Music), 29 (E4+1), 36 (Create & Craft), 40 (Rocks & Co).

I've had the box for a few years and its never done this before. Bought the same model for the mother-in-law a few years also and her's seems to be running fine and running all the same software.

Any ideas on what could be causing it and how I can sort this?

Cheers.

We have one similar report. Is the unit connected to your home network?

Units have been updating to the new firmware 1.03.12 recently, you might like to try re-installing the previous firmware 1.02.32. You need to do this manually. Having done so you will need to ensure it does not automatically update itself again.

Where to download 1.02.32: http://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Firmware_Downloads
Official Humax download page: http://beta.humaxonline.co.uk/freeview-hd-t2

Instructions for manual installation: http://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Install_Modified_Firmware
(ignore that it says "modified" firmware, it's the same process for standard firmware)

This already explained on the WiKi page i.e. :-

Install Modified Firmware

The procedure for upgrading Humax software, both original and customised (Modified) is detailed below.

I know, but the eye just sees the title (and it's what it says in the link). This seems a pointless and petty remark to me.

Don't you think it would be more appropriate to title the wiki page "Installing Firmware Manually" in as much as it applies to all downloaded firmware and not just the custom firmware?

Would it not be worth trying a system reset first?
Just in case it is something out of sync somewhere.
