Help - unable to log into CF

Hello

Switched the box on this morning to be greeted with the 'set up from scratch' routine of selecting screen ratio and retune of channels. I allowed this to run and all is ok apart from the fact that I cannot log into the CF as before. I know the box is connected to the internet as the portal works, the ip address has not chnged. The CF still identifies itself on bootup of the box. Do I need to reinstall the CF to get the web interface working again?

CF version = 1.03.12 mod 3.00

Can you telnet to it? If you can, select the "cli" option and then type "service" and check lighttpd is running.
If you can't, are you really sure the IP address hasn't changed?

I'm unable to telnet in either...

I've checked that the address assigned to box is the same as the one I'm using to attempt to log in and they are the same and unchanged from before. My router is set up to always give the box the same address.
 
OK - talking about the router prompted me to try the obvious (ie restart it!) and that has solved it...

The vagueness of networking is a whole other topic, but I'm wondering why the box had decided to reset itself in the first place - just bad luck?
