Humax Aura recording failed

My Humax aura frequently fails to record programmes with the message being displayed 'recording failed due to lack of signal.

This is particularly wierd as I was watching the beginning of the programme via live tv (through the Aura box)

Can anyone help?

Not easily based on the available information.

As a starting point:
  • Which channel(s) fail?
  • Which transmitter do you think you are receiving signals from?
  • What is the signal strength/quality of the channels you are trying to record?
  • Do you have duplicates of these channels somewhere above LCN* 800? (* Logical Channel Number - the number you use eg. 1,101,2,3 etc)
  • If you have duplicates what is the signal strength/quality of those channels?

Can anyone help?

Also:
  • Has your Aura always been like this?
  • Did it start to misbehave fairly soon after a retune?
  • Please clarify "watching the beginning of the programme via live tv". Was that using the TV's tuner, or the Aura tuner with the TV displaying the feed via the HDMI?

I ruled that out because:

Worth [the OP]* checking!
(* Inserted because of the ambiguity in my reply - could have looked as though I was encouraging Luke to check - I wasn't!)

I get this happening from time to time with no obvious pattern suggesting a certain channel, time or mux and happens with both a roof aerial and a loft aerial. I had it happen to a new skymix serial record yesterday afternoon that recorded the skymix show than was on just before it without issue, I have both set for today and the first is happily recording and will see at 5pm if the second fails again. Off subject but I had a new piece of weirdness on Channel4+1 a couple of nights ago, a show I recorded repeatedly went to a black screen for a couple of seconds without sound every 5 or so minutes for the first half hour of the recording but unlike the other past black screen events that have plagued the Aura this time the 4+1 logo could still be seen on the black screen.

I left the Aura on channel5 as it was yesterday but both serial recordings have worked today, again no apparent reason for it.

Obviously some fault at the playout centre - the link between the time-delay device and the output lost for some reason.
I agree, it was just something I had not seen before. On a side note I had another failed lack of signal series record yesterday evening on Blaze, it was also the first episode to be recorded since setting the series record.
