Humax FHR-6000T Will this need its own listing in the forum? ( Now named the Aura EZ 4K Freely Recorder)

Seems that a "humax-fhr-6000t-2tb-black" is now available at Richer Sounds!
The associated User Manual doesn't help much. My reading of it is that this is just the original Aura with Freeview app removed and a Freely app added. All recordings are made over the air, meaning that it does not record internet streams - there's a surprise!

Yes, within the said manual it states:

"Note: This product is compatible with an aerial connection only"!!

I think that means "don't connect to satellite" rather than making a statement about recording internet streams.
Clearly, being Freely, it will play internet streams.

The box isn't listed on the Humax, Humaxdirect, Currys or Argos websites.
Just had this reply from Richer Sounds

No it is not available. According to Richer they have 300 booked that are expected to arrive on 10th February. I spotted that too and gave them a call this morning . Sadly any info on Richer's site is just the same as was posted on other sites back in October of last year. I asked if they could confirm its recording capability but I was told they had not heard about it until I asked so no. No mention of Aura EZ in the title so either they are just posting old details or it is back to its original name and Dave can wear a smug grin :).

Edit oops I should have read past Adams post, seems I am a bit late to the party.:(

They must be expecting a rush of sales, as the quantity expected has risen rather a lot since the reply from Richer Sounds in the previous post.

There seems to be no mention at all about Freeview capability in the Richer info which seems odd. Also one of the pics shows a mobile phone with Aura EZ showing on its screen.

There is a user manual available for download on the Richer Sounds website.

Allowing 49 for online sales that leaves 4 per store, I doubt they will need to hire extra staff. :). Let me know how good it is when you rush down there to buy one, I need a good door stop.

I will wait for the early adopters to try it, and give their opinions before I even think about it. 🤔

Looking now, and it is back to calling itself Aura EZ 4k Freely Recorder. Well that must have been written by a member of the Labour party. Since when has Freeview become a dirty word? I may have missed it but I saw no mention at all, obviously it has it because it states you can use the box even if you are not connected to the internet or Freely. Also they make no mention whether it does or does not record Freely which seems like a blatant attempt to deceive people into thinking it does, the nearest thing to saying it does not seems to be "Access additional features and settings outside of the Freely interface" Android 12????????? even the over a year old claim of an Aura update was going to be to Android 14.

does or does not record Freely
I strongly suspect it records OTA and not internet streams. How channels are presented if you disable Freely - who knows. Technically it might then be Freeview, just not in an authorised sense.

If I understand what Freely is, and I probably don't, then internet streams with OTA backup is part of the definition. The cop-out is "but OTA is part of Freely, so we haven't misrepresented anything." More cow deposit!
