Humax HDR-Fox: Cold Start Characteristic

Not important, but I’ve been curios for some time on the following variable characteristic (they all have customised firmware).

On cold starting of my Humax recorders, they may or may not power down to standby OR they may stay in a half-awake state.
They’re all with aerial connection and internet connection.
I’ve tried removing aerial or/and Ethernet to see any consistency but it was not clear.
I’ve looked at their queues and schedules, and the half awake ones may or may not have a pending entry (naturally decryption won’t run).

So I have one right now, half-awake, no queued work and a schedule due at 14:00. It’s got the right time and all else looks good.
I just need to awake full and then down to get standby.

Whether or not cold start goes into standby depends what state it was in prior to the cold start (ditto a reboot via WebIF >> Diagnostics). In the case of WebIF reboot, before you actually reboot you are informed what outcome is expected.

Only worry if the behaviour is other than predicted.

I can’t predict it.
In the case of my Humax #4, it was in full standby last night when I powered it off.
This morning when powered up it stayed in half-awake state (blue ring, screen off) fully accessible from the LAN.
But at other times it may go back to standby, presumably after getting it’s time and with no pending schedule.
I was wondering why it isn’t one or the other.

Incidentally why I ask, some of my other Humax's are powered off (no power) and I’ll power them up to do some remote updates and maybe some file copying.
Sometimes they remotely connect ok (in half-awake state) but sometimes they’ve gone back to standby pretty quickish while I’m out of the room.
Naturally I have to then go back and take them out of standby to the normal awake state.
Just seems to vary for an unknown reason. I can’t predict it.

If your box fails to completely shut down when you press power off (& a recording is not in progress/pending) this is known a 'delinquent half awake'
This can have several causes but I have found these tests useful in detecting recordings causing problem

Understood but it definitely goes to standby before powering off (hard disk parks & my fitted processor area fan stops).

DELINQUENT HALF-AWAKE does fit, however sometimes it stays in this state but other times is goes to standby.
