Icon meaning

I've started copying recordings from an old disc to new via USB using just the Humax interface - no CFW involved.

After being copied a couple of recordings have acquired an extra icon on the right in the media list in addition to the HD and Enc. It's a silver disc (like a DVD) with a red cross on the lower left.
This appears on both the source and copy versions.
The files appear to play OK.
So far the ones that have this are non-BBC (ITV HD & C5 HD).

I dug out the user manual but can't find it there. I've had a trawl through the forum but also without success.
Anyone know what it means?

Copy protection - you've copied the file as many times as is allowed.
I'm refreshing my memory on how it works - we can certainly reset the count with the CFW.

It doesn't look like there's a way to specifically clear the flag using the standard hmt options, although you could do it with one of the patch commands. Possibly it will go away if you remove protection from the recording using auto-unprotect or hmt -protect from CLI.
I'm not near my Humax at the moment but let us know if you need help.

Well I'll be damned. I thought it suggested something like that, but as it just copied them it seemed unlikely. I had no idea there was a counter in the system to do that.
Presumably the broadcaster sets whether this happens, since the BBC files aren't marked. Or do they just have a higher permit value than once?

No, it's fine. This is just a one off (I hope) move from an old disc showing signs of confusion to a new one. Once SWMBO has watched them they'll be deleted.

Thanks for the info.

The FOX and 2000T hmt files certainly contain a counter as detailed in https://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/HMT_File_Format . 0x03dc and 0x0431 are the relevant offsets. I think I have seen the icon turn up before, but maybe that was when I was poking around in the hmt file to see what happens. Resetting 0x03dc to 0x04 should bale you out of the poo. Isn't that what Foxy does?
Possibly it will go away if you remove protection from the recording using auto-unprotect or hmt -protect from CLI.
If that does the same as Foxy then I think it might.
