I know line-of-sight is useful when dealing with radio waves. But I didn't know fog blocked them. I can't see the transmitter so my aerial can't "see" the radio waves.
Didn't know there was any engineering work at Waltham. It's Sutton Coldfield BBCA that's vanished recently - at least here in Notts.

It isn't the actual fog that is the problem, but the temperature inversion that often accompanies fog. Temperature inversions affect reception regardless of whether they are associated with fog or not.
