Is purchasing an HDR-FOX T2 worthwhile today?

Hi,
I've had various Humax DVRs for many years but our trusty HDR1100S doesn't seem to be as reliable as it used to be.
I don't like the sound of any of the newer devices, I get the impression that they are not any better than our HDR1100S.
Hence my initial question, Is purchasing an HDR-FOX T2 worthwhile today?
Secondary to that, Is the Custom Firmware still working well?
Regards,
Paul

The answer to both question is YES
They go for £30-50 on eBay where most hardware 15 years old would just be scrap,
You might be unlucky a get a lemon but repairs to many faults are possible

The primary reason to buy an HDR-FOX is to run the custom firmware. No other make or model offers that customisation potential. More recent models are progressively more locked down. Aura and Aura EZ seem to suffer from substantial quirks. What the HDR-FOX won't do now is anything that used to be available on the TV Portal Internet services (support has been dropped).

Of course it is. It still does everything that it used to, although there is a bit of an issue with Windows 11 support for SMB2.

Thanks guys for your prompt replies.
Sorry but I've got my model number "slightly" :o_O: wrong.
To replace my HDR1100S I will "of course" need a Humax HDR-FOXSAT T2
The Freeview version I mentioned earlier, won't work for me as I can only receive the Welsh versions of channels (I live on the English side of the Bristol Channel, but can only receive Welsh transmitters due to a large hill inland of us.)
