ITV1 Failed Recordings

Anyone else getting failed recordings using AR on ITV1?

The Hack failed yesterday and I spotted in time to schedule it from ITV1+1 but that failed too.

Pride of Britain has failed to start tonight.

Switched to padding for Dark Knight Rises later tonight and see if that works as a temporary fix.

Nothing out of the ordinary I can see:

8268 is ITV1 (SD West) and 8368 is ITV+1 (SD West), but it's the same on the other regions and on HD, as you'd expect.

The Hack, on ITV1 failed for me, both this week and last, (using Crystal Palace), and software 2.20.

Last week and this week I got a zero length recording. It was fine on ITV1 HD using 3.13.

Anyone else getting failed recordings using AR on ITV1?
If it is regular I wouldn’t know, as I don't regularly watch ITV's channels.

In which which way did yours fail?

Machine woke up into 'half-awake' and never started recording. The same machine recorded Question Time on BBC1 OK.

...
No. No issues for me.
All Creatures on 5 and 2 films on Film4 also failed last.

Recordings from BBC channels all recorded.
Maybe the issue lies somewhere else? Eg Does it have something to do with DetectAds? Or maybe you need to run fix-flash-packages?

What are you talking about?
The Humax software version. There used to be an issue with part time channels that sometimes caused zero length recordings to be a reported, but that was fixed in 3.xx. I was covering the possible differences in my report of also having issues with The Hack. Definitely irrelevant now in the context of TimK2015 latest reply that his issues covers at least a variety of different broadcasters' channels.

'Frasier' failed to start but started recording when I touched the front power button to bring the machine to fully awake!

I think the OP's 'fox has caught the syndrome I had at one time (years ago) which made me sceptical of AR.
I always have been sceptical of AR and never use it. Of course I have problems it some idiot moves the programme because of some live event overrunning. C'est la vie!

I have switched over to padding for non-BBC channels as my test with Dark Knight Rises recorded OK last night.

Still don't understand why Frasier started recording this morning when I brought it out of half-awake?

You have some other issue. Have you got a foreign mux by any chance? i.e. one from a wrong transmitter.
Or a faulty recording on the disk that is stopping the machine shutting down and starting up properly?
My test of The Dark Knight Rises recorded correctly (apart from the usual ITV early start and early finish cutting off the last bit of the credits).
Does it have something to do with DetectAds? Or maybe you need to run fix-flash-packages?
Completely irrelevant to the basic operation of the box (and this is the non-CF section).
The Humax software version.
So you should have said 1.02.20 and 1.03.13 not just 2.20 and 3.13. The latter were CF versions too, hence the confusion.

AR works fine if the broadcasters use it properly. Some don't. It's easy to tell once you start logging things which one is in which camp.
The main channels all work fine, except incompetent ITV who can't put the programme into the hole correctly, or when there are multiple extensions to live events (e.g. Tennis, yes BBC you're just as hopeless - I have the evidence of dubious practices).

On the machine I did a factory reset on this morning I did a manual tune for the MUXes on Crosspool, Sheffield.
Edit: I have checked and I'm using the correct channel numbers, i.e 21, 24, 27, 39, 42 & 45

As far as I can tell machine is shutting down correctly i.e. disk off, network off, displaying the red ring and completely quiet.

I will run with padding on the offending channels and give AR another try later next week.

I was mimicking the first post. I probably don't succeed in doing it but I usually try to keep to the language of the original poster.

Looks like the now/next info is out of wack on PSB2/D3&4 MUX but fine on the BBC MUX and others.
Edit: BBC News at One just failed to start!!!

Am I right in thinking the start/stop for AR is determined from the now/next info?

I tun two HDR Fox T2s. I record the same things on both boxes. One of them has AR enabled and the other uses padding.
