Jumping in playback

My box was bought in July 2011 it is running software version 1.03.12.

Recently I have noticed that during playback the recording will jump forward by ten seconds or so and carry on playing. When I hit the 15sec rewind button it picks up the recording and plays the missing few seconds then it jumps forward again.

Very frustrating. Any ideas for repair gratefully received.
 
The only obvious explanation is that the disk is on the way out, but you can attempt recovery either by using the disk format option on the Humax menus (which will destroy your existing recordings) or by installing the custom firmware and trying the non-destructive disk repair process.
