Largest external drive?

My poor old 500gb WD USB drive is now full and I am considering an upgrade. Will the T2 support a 4gb drive?

A 4 giga bit (or even byte) drive would not free up much space. A 4 Tera Byte drive may if used externally.

I personally use internal 2TB drives as they are compatible and form the above link I doubt that anything larger internally will work with any certainty.
