Received today.
Thank you for contacting Humax.
The latest we heard was that the update will be delayed unfortunately.
It was supposed to be available by the end of last year and now the latest estimate is the first quarter of this year.
Apologies, I wish I had a better response for you.

Better than nothing...

It is hoped that the update will be released when it is ready for release, and not before.

We are currently awaiting the loading of our complement of small, lemon-soaked paper napkins for your comfort, refreshment, and hygiene during the flight.

Translation......... There is no certainty that the update will even be released when it is ready let alone that it exists in reality.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 comes to mind.

Always the negative one, but hopefully you will believe it when it is released.

Looks like NEVER may have been right. According to Cord Busters the Aura has been discontinued. Can’t see them releasing a new firmware on a discontinued box.

Various other outlets (eg. Argos, Currys) are showing no Humax models at all or Aura discontinued.
Humaxdirect showing Aura "sold out".
No mention of the Aura replacement box either.
Strange how this coincides with the shutdown of the other site and the supposed link with Humax Towers.

Perhaps Humax are ceasing trading? Most people won't want a separate Freely box, if they want the service they will simply buy a new TV with it built in. Personally I don't like that model as smart TVs tend to turn into dumb TVs after a short number of years when the manufacturer stops doing firmware updates for it. But it is the way the market has gone. My 12 year old Sony smart TV turned into a dumb TV several years ago. My HDR Fox T2's still work fine.
