I thought I had reported similar previously, but I can't find it.

Trying to watch The Day Of The Jackal on Legend, my HD-FOX repeatedly crashes and reboots every few minutes. Changing channel stops the crashing.
 
Is Legend one of those channels that tries to deliver by internet? There's one channel (memory fails me which one) that on the Aura after a few seconds goes blank.(May have been fixed) Turns out it favours the internet over aerial. Maybe Legend is doing something similar and your HD-FOX can't cope.
Have you tried recording from Legend and does that and play back crash the FOX?
 
Now I'm getting recurring crashes on ITV4 on HD-FOX, but a HDR-FOX does not seem to be affected.

This is very curious. I think it's been four reboots so far, in the 10 minutes since switching to ITV4. The rest of the morning has been no problem, BBC1 and Dave.

Switching back to Dave resulted in no crashes in the 8 minutes I was there. Now back to ITV4 again and not crashing (so far), I'll leave the HD-FOX on there fo the time being and check the crash log later.

The crash log shows the four I had today, but a long series of crashes back on June 11th (I couldn't have been watching it at the time, it was probably tuned to Sky Mix). Shame there's no log showing me when channel changes occurred.
 
I can't explain why this would be specific to my HD-FOX, I've tuned away from 4 and it's fine, return to 4 and it crashes every few minutes. I don't remember seeing this on a mainstream service before, and note that this occurs only sporadically – at other times the channel in question is fine.

Could it be that certain programmes carry some web payload? I could well imagine that to be the case for the Paralympics coverage, and the network to this HD-FOX is very flakey (although having said that, I disconnected the network completely and it's still crashing).

Could that be an answer? No network + programme with Internet payload = cyclical crashes?

If there is I cannot access it with the Aura connected to t'net.
It only takes one piece of cr@p in the data stream to screw up some Humax software. Maybe you've found another one.

But which version of "4" are you talking about from where?
My HD (1.03.02) has been tuned to Channel 4 SD from Mendip for 11 minutes now and no crash.
I presume yours has CF, so have you tried it in Safe Mode to rule out anything odd with that?
 
Just been trying C4HD on 35, getting reboots there too. So that's C4, C4+1, and C4HD. I expect the reboots to stop when Countdown comes on.

I don't understand how that could cause repeated crashes when tuned to some channels but not others.

However, I have it now in Safe Mode and was able to watch the last half of The Chase.
 
:sigh:

Came out of Safe Mode, got a crash on 4SD within moments. Turned on Safe Mode again (had to switch to BBC1 so I got time to do that between crashes), no more reboots (for a while, anyway), but now I'm out of Safe Mode and not getting reboots.

No idea what that proves.
