Have you got a link to the cross build env?

Sorry, I misread your posts and assumed you were cross-compiling. If compiling on the box the '--host' or '--build' options to configure shouldn't be needed.

It works for me, perhaps there's a problem with your build environment. If all else fails try running it under gdb.

PS. I do have yet another text editor "joe" if anyone's interested.

Do you fancy packaging nano and joe up for the repository? It gives people who know them a choice even though I think the web-based editor is going to be better for guiding most people through things
