My Hard drive is filling up fast.....no extra recordings

Have you tried FF or Rew?
yep, all playback working good. Bought a new Freesat recorder today for standby if this box fails - the Foxsat webif is asking for login credentials again, so it is still misbehaving. Might move the Foxsat to elsewhere on the network and use it as a media server until all recordings have been watched

The convert files package keeps a backup of the original ts file by default. Therefore will roughly double the disk usage. You can disable this in settings.

You will always see some additional disk usage while the conversion is in progress as it creates a new ts file from the original. But it will delete the original once completed if you disable the backup feature.

Like I said, install 4.1.3
See Raydon's post.
4.1.3 seems impossible to download now, when I go here https://www.avforums.com/threads/me...-for-the-foxsat-hdr-release-4-part-6.2024876/ all I get is some nonsense about VPN and encryption, not an actual download

edit....found it here:

You can tell how long it is since I last updated as I was using 4.1.1 (updated to that when it arrived) and it had been working faultlessly up until recently

Damn filecloud.io - it's caused ordinary users so much annoyance over the years.
Here's my cached copy: https://dl.dropbox.com/s/umzu2qxdlr...dle_for_the_Foxsat_HDR_release_4.1.3.rar?dl=1
without any annoyance whatsoever (well apart from the .rar packaging, but that's another thing entirely, so here's a .zip equivalent).
thanks for all your help. I'll update in the week while my wife is out of the house and not using the box

I have now placed a copy on the cloud for others too:

Here

Hmm....after using the webif for a while following the update, now it is looking for login credentials again, definitely a problem there, although I can still access its files and stream them to my computer in the other room with VLC....quirky behaviour indeed

I'll try it tomorrow - the webif has re-appeared for now
I expect it'll say "Web Interface User Access Control is aready disabled." (sic).
Why would the WebIF ask for a login on some occasions and not others? There must be something flaky somewhere.
Yes, but what?
Clutching at straws, but perhaps something residual in the Web server config. Try:
cd /opt/etc; ls -la . lighttpd

Or maybe it really is time to delete the file /opt/etc/.DO_NOT_DELETE_THIS_FILE and reinstall?

Thanks for the help - the webif seems to be behaving itself.......for now....
As long as I can copy .ts files from it I'll be content with that. The new Freesat recorder can stay in its box for now, on standby.
Already have a hybrid lnb on the dish, so it can be used to its full, but wanna keep the Foxsat alive as long as I can
