My three differnet sourced and branded dongles which work on my Humax boxes are all Rt3070. Do RT2870 work?I think that it is going to get harder and harder to reliably source dongles based on the RT2870 chip set.

Certainly I have always assumed a RT3070 was necessary based on the original thread http://hummy.tv/forum/threads/hdr-fox-t2-wireless-dongle.127/My three differnet sourced and branded dongles which work on my Humax boxes are all Rt3070. Do RT2870 work?
I think you are right about it being RT3070 but they both seem to use the same driver: the RT2870 one (see here). I'm not sure how they differ. My three differnet sourced and branded dongles which work on my Humax boxes are all Rt3070. Do RT2870 work?
The V2 Edimax doesn't work as it is a completely different chip set (MediaTek MT7601U). The non-functional Edimax EW-7711 af123 is referring to is detected by the HDR-FOX but it cannot detect wireless networks with the existing driver. It seems to be due to minor differences in the eeprom settings compared to the usual V1.0D dongle. To date the chip set of the new Humax dongle is unknown.Maybe Malcolm can let you have his?

I bought one of these last September and it works on 5ghz and gives a Humax displayed speed of 270Mbps on an HDR-2000T with 1.01.10 firmware.Looking at the updated software that they have released, the driver they have added is for the https://wikidevi.com/wiki/Ralink_RT5572
The list of operating systems it works with made me smile :-I bought one of these last September . . . http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300Mbps-W...022?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item58adb982a6
It could be worse.Humax seem to shoot themselves in the foot at every opportunity.
What does "Optomized for HUMAX IP- HYBRID SET TOP BOX" as stated in the advert imply?Snaps of the new dongle from ebay UK.
Or is it because a 2.4 / 5GHz replacement for the HDR-2000T can be had for £8.75 and the previous owner is after making a profit and still having a usable dongle. Is this a dongle being flogged off because the previous owner discovered it doesn't work?
