Old Computers

My first purchase was an Atari ST. I loved its assembly language. I wasted many happy hours changing the sector order on my floppies so they read and wrote faster. Plotting Mandelbrot sets. Writing programs for Math Spectrum. I even wrote a book with it, before we bought our first Windoze machine, which ruined xmas for my daughters by not running their game presents. (Bl%%dy Directx6.)

The only thing I remember about the BBC micro is that we used them as an intelligent terminal to a mainframe. We had some chip fitted that turned visual editing on the micro into line editing commands on the mainframe. Decce chip and Ecce line editor.
