On box video converting?

Just a thought (/feature request) for something that I would use a lot...

Would it be possible to perform video format conversion on the box?

What I'd ideally like to be able to do is copy video straight from the box to my iphone in the correct format (+ associated reduced file size). It would be awesome if there were options to do this directly in webif.

In my head it seems like something similar to the nicesplice editing facility that has already been added? Or would this be much harder to achieve?

Much harder. The HD/HDR-FOX does not have the processing power this would require. The facilities provided so far utilise the hardware paths for moving video data around.

I think you would run into RAM issues.
