On the configure LAN:

Configure IP - DHCP
IP address - 10.0.0.2

You were pinging 10.0.0.8 but the setup screen shows 10.0.0.2 - which one are you trying to connect to?

Sorry should have explained. Due to non dynamic DNS, when I have switched it off at mains to force a reboot, it picks up a new IP address. 10.0.0.2 is the current one.

Have you tried connecting with telnet? That should work even if the web interface is broken in some way.

I'm using an iOS telnet but yes it connects and gives me the 'Telnet menu'. What do I do next please?

I spotted a reinstate web interface option, selected it, and it's all back and working!!!

Quote what the LAN and WiFi settings pages say, and what you see on the front panel display during boot.

On the front panel in a morning it just goes to BBC red button

I note you have resolved your problem, but for reference that wasn't what I asked. During the boot up process, if the custom firmware is installed it will be reported on the front panel display. I was checking you still had the custom firmware installed, but your answer was what the display shows after boot not during boot.
