Hi guys first time posting, I have been induring the Aura since it first come out. I was hoping to have an android update. I upgraded the HDD to a SSD this did help the system cope however still get random crashes ect.



So here is my question about the new box, Does anyone know if it will support Plex, Netflix, now TV or Disney etc? PLEX is the reason i keep this box and for recording live TV so 8 can skip the adverts.



There is stock local to me but without answers to the above questions I can't pull the trigger.



Anybody else get the feeling they and not really promoting this much? It doesn't even say new on the website.

My advice is to stick with the Aura and wait for the forthcoming update.

The new Aura EZ Freely Recorder cannot get any of those Apps it does not even have access to Google Play store. Any news of when that will be? We have already waited nearly 1 1/2 years since it was first mentioned and it must be nearly 6 months since beta testing was claimed to have started.
 
Thanks. I hadn't seen the new review. I can't believe they've left out the apps! Are they trying to destroy the company? I was very interested in the Manhattan but it lacks Plex. The reason being I have a perfectly serviceable Sony TV that only has two HDMI ports. I don't really want to be switching between stuff all the time.

I don't want to give up recording freeview and head over to streaming just yet completely just because of adverts.

It would be great if all the main broadcasters could get together and create one app with one subscription for BBC ITV channel 4 channel 5. And make that ad free.

Waiting for the new update. I don't think is going to happen. They will want to flog the new box.

Wouldn't that go against the "Free" in Freely or Freeview? I suppose not if you are proposing that as a separate app in addition to the existing free ones. After all the channels you mention are public service broadcasters (at least for the main channels).Does BritBox provide some of the functionality you want?

Nobody's under any obligation. There's nothing to be gained by being impatient, and it may be counterproductive. Digging into people's online activity is creepy at best, and any conclusions drawn from it likely to be illusory.

Mind your own business. It has nothing to do with you.

PS. whoever removed my previous post where I explained that Martin was here online at the time of me posting and it was showing that he had read this thread 11 minutes before should at least have the spine to notify me of that removal rather than behave like a Barry. Instead now readers will assume that BH's comment was valid.

I read recently that the Humax Aura that most of us will have has officially been discontinued as they ar going to concentrate on the new Freely version. Don't hold your breath for any updates!!

In reply to Crumpet(the op) my box has definitely been better since the power supply upgrade,but it still misses recordings from series etc.
