Re Format HD

I've just bought a 9300t and there are issues with sync and picture freeze. I contacted Humax and they adviced I re-format the HD. Unfortunately I did not ask how (meaning without taking out the HD). Is there is a way of me reformatting the HD without taking it out of the case? I have had a look through the menus and there does appear to be an option to re-format.
