Record 1st half of split recording

does AR even work on Great! Action?
AR works on everything. It's just that most broadcasters link it directly to the schedule rather than what is actually happening at the time on the playout system, so it gives the illusion of not working. It's difficult to comprehend how and why it's so difficult to achieve this properly for most of them, given all the rest of system's complexity - this ought to be a triviality in the grand scheme.

Eight years on and this is still the case; "The Ice Road [2021]" has been twice on 'Great! Action' as a split event and the start of part two was (probably intentionally) not synchronised to the event change.
They are steadfastly in the tie-AR-to-the-schedule camp:
Code:
06/14 16:45:02 Event 15576:22146 4F:08 started 16:45:00 00:56:00 "The Ice Road" "/CV0026127#01" ""
06/14 17:41:02 Event 15576:22145 4F:09 started 17:41:00 00:05:00 "This Week Back Then" "/CV0001854" ""
06/14 17:46:02 Event 15576:22147 4F:10 started 17:46:00 01:14:00 "The Ice Road" "/CV0026127#01" ""
I thought the second part was supposed to have #02 rather than #01 again though? That explains why it doesn't record.

That's odd.
Although it may be a red herring. I notice forthcoming events for that film has the same #01 for both sections. It looks like a couple of films on ITV2 & ITV4 for the weekend do the same - both sections have the same #01.

I came here looking for a custom firmware method to turn split events into a single (either with AR or as a 'manual' event) automatically
It would have to be converted to a manual timer recording, and then that would be a fixed event. Another wrinkle of split recordings is that subsequent repeats get treated as more parts of the same – that's a bug in the Humax implementation.

It gives a very good impression of not working on the minor channels.
So, it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck but is a swan.

It certainly still did that on the 5000T, I'm not sure about the Aura.
