Recording schedule backup

I have a HDR T2 with CF 3.10. Yesterday I tried backing up the recording schedule before doing a re tune then restored from the backup. Maybe iv'e got the wrong idea but it only backed up and restored the PC interface schedule not the one on T2 which I found had been deleted. I did the reboot after the restore. where am I going wrong ?

I would expect the schedule on the T2 and the schedules on the Web-If / Remote Schedule to be the same apart from any Pending entries. You can display any backed up schedule on the Web-If screen with 'View Backup'

After I found the schedule on the T2 had been deleted I tried 3 times to back up with the the web-If and then restore and reboot but it did not restore the schedule on the T2 I just added more entries of the same programme to the Web-If. I could see the backed up schedule on the Web-If with "View backup" and tried to restore from the latest backup with the portal connected to wifi on the T2. I ended up just putting the schedule back on the T2 manually. Are there any instructions anywhere ?

If you really did this, you would have been backing up an empty schedule
and reboot but it did not restore the schedule on the T2
Exactly the expected result. Restoring an empty backup will produce an empty schedule.
Or did you not do exactly what you said you did? It's difficult to advise without accurately described attempts at getting the results expected.

First I backed up and restored the schedule which was displaying in the T2 then rebooted. Then I found the schedule on the T2 had been deleted but not restored. Then I repeated the process 3 times. I see what you mean about the 3 times after the first backup and restore but the first time I backed up and restored shouldn't this have worked ?

Providing that you actually had something in your schedule, yes. But you said that the retune cleared it, then you backed it up and restored it.
You still have not said whether the schedule that you backed up had entries. I assume that it did, in which case it should have worked. Did you

If so, what was the result. Just sort out the WebInterface jobbie, and don't add the remote scheduling aspect until you have sorted the webif out first. Adding the RS aspect just complicates things.

Have a look at the available backups in the Webif and see if any of them have your data, if so, restore that backup and reboot.
It is difficult to decide whether the 'problem' is one of the backup, or the restore unless you analyse what's happening one stage at a time.

I have just found a related 'problem' in so far as after a backup/restore, everything is duplicated. I'll do some more investigations and then start a new thread, so experts don't answer this one here. I don't want to hijack the OP's thread.

Sorry for being unclear Yes I did the backup before the retune and there were entries in it. On the next few tries I tried restoring from an earlier backup on the Web-If. Anyway I will try again before my next retune bearing in mind the points you made. Thanks for your advice.

I suspect you need to run the fix-flash-packages diagnostic. Have you changed the hard drive in the past?

Yes I changed the hard drive to a Seagate 2Tb a few months ago. Can you point me to where I locate the fix-flash package

Go to the diagnostics screen in the web interface, choose from the dropdown-list in the diagnostics section then click on Run Diagnostic

>>> Ending diagnostic fix-flash-packages

Completed.
This is the result from running fix flash packages I still have triplicate entries in the web- If schedule
Do I just delete them manually in the Web-If ?

Hi gjf60. It would be good if you could edit your post and put the listing stuff within

tags.

Unfortunately Restore does create multiple entries unless you restore to a empty schedule.
Use the Select All and Delete Selected buttons to delete the existing entries before restoring your backup.

I dont normally use the Web-If schedule I just wanted to have a quick backup and restore after retuning

This has come up before. I also thought the above, but when selecting a restore point and then clicking the restore button, an "are you sure"-type box pops up which says something like "are you sure you want to delete your entire schedule and favourites and replace with this backup". So which is it?

Thanks for your reply I am trying to edit this code post
And you have succeeded. Thanks.
