Remote disassembly: Expect damage

I've disassembled quite a few remote controls in my time so I know what I'm doing. I've had the odd broken clip but I've not come across one like the RM-F04 remote.

They clearly has no intention of it coming apart for repair and all the clips down one side broke. So for the first time ever I've got a remote with a couple of strips of black insulating tape holding one side together. The Pause button was getting iffy but there was none of the usual water-soluble viscous goo I was expecting to find, just a trace of something on the PCB carbon contacts.

Looks like the one that came with the spare is going to have its mode changed.
